Metallic embroidery thread for decorating and repairing clothes.
The embroidery thread is of high quality and is colourfast and durable. For embroidery and repairing clothes with embroidery thread, I recommend cutting off the length you want and then splitting the thread so that the thickness matches what you are repairing. If you use very thick thread on a thin fabric, you risk getting holes and wear in the transition between the embroidery/repair and the rest of the garment. The embroidery thread consists of 6 threads that are twisted together into a thick thread.
Metallic thread can be a bit difficult to work with as it can curl and hang up more than cotton thread. It can be nice to, for example, take 1 strand of metallic thread together with 2-4 strands of another ordinary colour. It is a little easier to work with, but gives a nice effect. Here are pictures of some embroidery repairs where metallic thread has been used alone, or mixed in with cotton thread.
On the jeans in picture 5, the metallic thread on the right leg is mixed with a cotton thread in a similar colour. The gold flowers inside the other knee, on the other hand, are sewn with only metallic thread.
