In this booklet, I have collected some of the techniques, thoughts, information and experiences that are useful when starting to repair clothes.
This is a digital PDF version. When you buy it, you get an English file in half letter format. The booklet covers a little about what and why we should repair, a little about different materials and how they affects the repairs, different ways of patching, some ways to stop, reinforcement of worn fabrics, attaching thread, some practical hand stitches and a selection of embroidery. Each part has examples of how the techniques can be used and combined for both very discreet repairs and of course visible repairs. The last part has a review of the various aides available to mark textiles and how they can be used to draw and transfer patterns and motifs onto various fabrics.
